Water Tank & Silo Art of the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia

As people get to know us, we love finding local art during our travels. When we were in the Yorke Peninsula we were so excited to see the water tank and silo art around. We did miss a couple, however this is a list of what we found!


Snowtown Water Tower Art

Artist: Vans The Omega (Joel Van Moore)

Location: 48 Railway Terrace, Snowtown South Australia

Completed: April 2018

Depicts: Locals, CFA volunteer, John Hansen who served over 30 years, Jenny Cox, 25 years service with Ambulance service, Bernie Altmann who is depicted playing netball, she played 300 games, Simon McCormack who has played over 300 games of A grade AFL.


Coobowie Water Tank Art


Artist: Jason Parker, Chanel Tang & Ambrose Rehorek

Location: Gumbowie Rd, Coobowie, South Australia

Completed: February 2020

Depicts: Black swans, flower - Buline Bulbosa & the Christmas Bell from the local area. The shed depicts Coobowie's Rodeo history.


Yorketown Water Tower Art

Artist: Jasmine Crisp

Location: 132 Stanbury Rd, Yorketown, South Australia

Completed: March 2021, took 37 days to complete

Depicts: Flowering canola fields, Royal Flying Doctor plane and the Pink Lakes that surround Yorketown.


Port Moorowie Water Tank Art

Location: Corner of Marine Parade & Mceachems Beach Rd, Port Moorowie, South Australia

Artist: Sam Brooks

Completed: October 2021

Depicts: Life in Port Moorowie in times gone by.


Edithburgh Water Tower Art

Artist: Mike Makatron, Conrad Bijak & Dylan Butler

Location: New Honiton Rd, Edithburgh, South Australia

Completed: March 2021

Depicts: Striped Pyjama Squid, Cuttlefish, Leafy Sea Dragon, Bellied Sea Eagle, Far Eastern Curlew & the Troubridge Island Lighthouse.


Lake Fowler Water Tank Art

Artist: Jason Swales of Studio Surf

Location: Corner Lake Fowler Rd & Boothill Station Rd, South of Yorketown, South Australia

Completed: March 2021

Depicts: This is known by the locals as the "emu tank" due to the magnificent emus on the tank, it also depicts the scraping of the salt from Lake Fowler in the late 1800s and early 1900s.


Bute Water Tower Art

Artist: Janne Birkner & Scott Nagy

Location: 18 Martin Rd, Bute, South Australia

Completed: August 2021

Depicts: Local orchids, rainbow bee-eater birds, blue wren, agriculture, Bute's historic railway station, and a young woman representing women in country areas.
